Yeah cement tiles might be a strange style for a colonial, but you never know…it could be lovely. Unfortunately my husband had the range hood built and drywalled in a day when I wasn’t at the Dexter House so I don’t have any progress photos for you. He thought a wood hood would be easier to build (like he did at the Ravenna House) but I really wanted the plaster look and in the end, it was really easy to build too. we recommend using our unglazed tile grout. our timberwolf is natural grey in color and has the least amount of pigment. steer clear of permacolor grouts that will stain the tile. ideally tile spacing should be set at 1/16 inch - as tight as possible - to keep the pattern flow. for any cement tile we always recommend miracle's 511 porous plus as a sealant.
NOTE: This is hand-made, rustic cement tile. With cement tile of this nature, there will be color and texture variations from piece to piece. Color shading can vary even on a single tile. Chips or texture variations may exist. This is normal and not considered a defect for handmade tiles. It is advised to order all cement tile needed for a project. Subsequent orders can come in with shade variations. Samples of colors ordered can vary from actual shading or product received in a final ordered placed.
