The tone of the tiles depends on the aesthetic you want. If you want something rustic, go for dark floors. For that gray toned cement tiles will look great. You can get polished concrete tiles for a smooth finish on the floor and for easy cleaning as well. It is also the better option for commercial purposes. Lighter tones are better if you want a bright home.
Whether it’s spills, splashes, or splatters, the kitchen is often on the receiving end of some pretty tough messes. If you’re not careful, you can easily end up with a kitchen covered in food stains and grease spatters, which can lead to a dingy appearance or even lingering odors. In our opinion, the kitchen should be a source of comfort; a place where families and friends can gather around, share a meal, and spend quality time together. We love to see kitchens live up to their potential. That’s why we at Riad love to see our cement tiles being used to create kitchen backsplashes.
and we invite all of you to take your own baby steps toward the future you believe in. we hope you might use today as your own launch toward taking action to make a difference in the world and the lives around you. the point being, we believe little steps daily, and monthly can add up to a lot of steps yearly. if we can all take small actions every day- they can only amount to big changes.
Thanks, Julia. I think it feels traditional too. Right now, I think I will just leave the backsplash painted rather than add anything else. I may change my mind down the road. The area behind the sink is actually too narrow for any sort of backsplash at all. There is a window right there, and the apron goes down within an inch or two of the countertop.
so this friday, on the perch of the future, clé is committing to the bigger question with our promise of smaller ongoing actions that we trust when woven together will make for bigger results. today, we commit to trying our best to support the greater whole. we commit to not turning away from the harder questions. we commit to sharing ourselves and our resources with those in need. we commit to using our talents to better the world around us. we commit to being better people. we commit to acting out of love and not hate.

The Monsieur encaustic tile brings the chic French style of bold patterns and soft lines to your home’s walls and floors. The perfect complement to the black Mademoiselle arabesque tile, pair them together for a bold checkerboard effect.
Love cement tiles – have them in my guest bath and fireplace surround – but those puppies are hard to seal properly. Make sure you’ve got somebody who knows what they’re doing. In the bathroom, first guy made a giant mess of the job – specialist had to come in, scrape the bad sealer off and reseal – they ended up with a bit more of a rustic, distressed finish, but it works OK with the style of my house (kinda like Emily’s cloent’s kitchen)
A custom banquette filled with colorful pillows coordinates with the backsplash and anchors the light-filled corner of the kitchen, creating a cozy breakfast nook. They also installed a richly patterned pressed tin ceiling to add vintage flair to an often overlooked part of a room.
