Residential cement tiles are the latest trend and must-have product in countless home decorating publications. They are quickly gaining popularity for their various benefits, which include incredible durability, versatility, and unmatched amount of design and customization opportunities. Homeowners everywhere are looking to add residential concrete tiles into their space to add beauty, style, and practicality that will last through the decades.
Everything I’ve found online recommends an impregnator/penetrating sealer for cement tiles. Cement tiles are super porous meaning they’ll stain easily, so you have to seal them prior to grouting. I plan to use this sealer product. And then I’ll grout them with either a bright white grout or an off-white grout that matches the field color of the tile. We ended up with 1/4″ grout lines (which is 1/8″ thicker than the manufacturer recommends…oops), so I’ll use a sanded grout. Stay tuned for that.
Bathrooms: I just installed these tiles from Erin Adams design in my own bathroom and my search for those is what started this whole thing. Most cement tiles will work either on the floor or walls of your bathroom, but check with the manufacturer as some tiles will need to be sealed before they get a lot of foot traffic and water on them. Again, seal them after install and ideally keep sealing every couple years as needed.
This seal is a bit new to us, because in Cuba that is our country of origin is not a sealant for tile and grout cement we use only done a mix of white cement and water is used and applied with a broom, then the remaining grout is removed and you're in no time and a lot of cleaning looks great and for many years, www.cementtilecorp.com can visit our website for more details
The tile you’re probably most used to seeing is ceramic tile, but we want to redirect your focus to another type of tile that has the same beauty but comes with many more benefits. Cement tile is made from an entirely different process than ceramic tiles, with a hard-wearing mixture of mineral powder, cement, sand, and color pigment. It is compressed with about 2,000 pounds of hydraulic pressure, and the design becomes a part of the tile, not simply glazed or painted on the surface. Ceramic tiles are made with clays and glazes and are fired in kilns and don’t offer the same level of resiliency. Cement tiles have proven to be more durable and long-lasting than ceramic tiles and show less wear and tear over time. Backsplash cement tiles are also water-resistant and stain-resistant when sealed properly.
