3000 YEAR OLD UNDERWATER FOREST | Clear Lake Oregon | Big Tiny World Travel

Clear Lake was created about 3,000 years ago when lava flowed down from a nearby mountain and cooled, creating a dammed-up riverbed at the lakes southern end. Ancient trees were drowned in the flood and are petrified by the waters’ cold temperature. This lake is the source of the McKenzie River and is a popular spot for scuba diving, hiking, and kayaking.
