Something is being done It’s hard to get your attention when there are more than 100 apps on a mobile device. It’s easy to get confused by work calls or random apps that constantly notify you. That casual game is not considered to put you on the home screen. To address this sporadic problem, Focus Mode in iOS 15 is Apple’s effort to help people regain control over their devices.
“I like that I can have a few options that can be locked in different ways. So for example, I have a recording focus that only allows me to receive text messages from my wife and slack messages from our sales VP, “said Mike Hurley, co-founder of Riley FM. “I also have a workout focus that blocks everything except the activity app. I set up an automation in the shortcut app to trigger it whenever I start a short set workout – so it won’t stop when I walk during certain exercises. “
This iOS 15 focus feature is an extension of Do Not Disturb. Previously, focusing on a specific task meant suspending a blanket from receiving notifications. Now, iOS devices can be configured with more granularity. This will make it much more useful for more people. Still, the focus may be irresistible at first glance, so let’s break it down.
Setting focus mode
Once your iOS 15 is installed, the easiest way to get started with Focus is to go to the Settings app. Apple has some basic modes, including Do Not Disturb, Work and Personal. Don’t bother blocking everything, but it can be changed. Work and personal people will suggest allowing notifications from certain people and apps, but I think these suggestions revolve around most recent uses.
In the Focus section, there is a plus sign at the top right to add your own custom area of focus. Here, Apple has some more tips such as driving, gaming, exercise, reading and mindfulness.
Once you have selected a field of focus, there will be several options to configure it to be fully set up. First, select the people who are allowed to send messages and make calls when the mode is enabled. Second, choose the apps that are allowed to go through, if any. Apps can be filtered based on whether they are time-sensitive. Once the new focus mode is set up, more settings will be available
