Mid-tier TV

TCL 6-Series

This is the sweet spot for most TV buyers, where you will find great technology and good interface at relatively low prices.

The TCL 6-Series (9/10, Wired Recommendations) has been our favorite TV to most people for years, and this wonderful 2020 model is still what we want. It has mini LED backlighting for better black levels and a very usable Android TV interface that turns everything from downloading apps to casting from your phone into the air. This deal is available at Walmart.

If you want something a little bigger than the TCL above, this model from Samsung is a solid option. I like that it has Alexa onboard, so you can set the timer and ask for the weather. (You can turn off Alexa if you don’t want to use it.) This deal is also in Best Buy.

The 5-Series is the best TV under $ 500. You get a Quantum Dot display, an Android TV interface 6 Series and Alexa compatibility. Also, the included voice remote makes it easy to search your favorite content. This deal is also available at Best Buy and Walmart

Sony’s 48-inch OLED offers stunning image quality, OLED is justifiably famous for that black color. The only downside is that it doesn’t have the ability to play 4K video at 120 HZ, which means you probably don’t want to pair up with Sony’s Playstation 5. This deal is also available on Target.

The big screen

Looking for a huge screen to watch your favorite party or TV show? These are two good options.

This 75-inch Samsung interior quantum dot technology makes it bright and vibrant, perfect for large living rooms with windows. I also like the center pedestal stand, which lets the giant TV fit into standard-sized TV consoles. This deal is also available at Best Buy.

Sony is another maker of fine-sized TVs, and it comes with an Android TV built-in and Alexa compatibility for easy searching. It also features Sony’s great MotionFlow XR technology, which helps clear up high-speed objects like players and balls while watching the game and all onscreen actions while gaming. The 85-inch model is also selling at $ 2,000 ($ 500 discount).

After a long-term upgrade? Here are the best deals on the most beautiful TVs on the market

It’s Samsung’s 4K flagship, and it’s an amazingly handsome TV (8/10, wired recommendation). Combining the mini LED backlighting company’s NeoQLED with quantum dot technology makes it the best screen we’ve seen in a bright room (and one of the best we’ve seen in a dark room).

If you have a dark room to watch it (or any room, really), the C1 is the most beautiful TV I’ve seen this year (8/10, wired recommendation). It’s also amazing for gamers, with HDMI 2.1 input and a 120-Hz refresh rate that provides super-smooth motion onscreen.
