Camera deal

Panasonic Lumix S5

Our favorite full-frame video solution is currently selling at its lowest price (it dropped to the same price on Black Friday in 2021). See our Best Mirrorless Camera Guide for more details on why we like the Lumix S5 so much. This deal is also available on Amazon.

GoPro has been running this deal variant for some time, but it’s still a good one. The newer, larger-capacity enduro battery is also being sold (and worth the investment based on my tests). This agreement includes a one-year GoPro subscription, so be sure to set a reminder to cancel it if you don’t want it after the free year.

The deal runs just before Christmas, but I’m including it because it’s still a good value, and this pocket camouflage juggernaut (8/10, Wired Recommendations) for an action cam can go somewhere that even GoPro can’t — like 50 feet underwater, No additional cases are required. This is especially great for underwater photography, thanks to the f / 2.0 lens, which is very fast for a camera of this size.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 90

I have a Fujifilm Instax printer, and you know what my wish was? Camera. Because the camera is more fun. Point, shoot, print. It’s hard to lose it for instant gratification. Of all the Fujifilm Instax cameras I tested, this is my favorite. This deal is for cameras only, so be sure to take some film as well. A 20-pack costs $ 14 on Amazon

No, it’s not technically a deal, but it’s brand new, and I think it’s pretty cool. Yes, this is a disposable camera loaded with Tri-X400. There is no question about whether you can push / pull while making these. And I know, disposables are not cool; I really should have loaded a roll of Tri-X into my obscure 1950s Japanese Rangfinder, but it wouldn’t happen to me. Although you can’t really afford to use a disposable one, there’s the Kodak M35, which could be the cheapest reusable film camera for around $ 35. The Kodak M35 is available on Amazon.

Joby GorillaPod 3K

Weighing less than 4 pounds, yet capable of holding a 22-pound camera, this Manfrotto is currently at the top of my list to replace my broken tripod. I haven’t tested it, but if you value portability over brute force, it looks like a solid alternative.

Gorillapod’s now famous flexible, preheated legs make it worth having even if you have a “real” tripod. It is lightweight, infinitely twisted and flexible and capable of holding a 6.6 pound camera and lens. If you don’t need that much support, the smaller GorillaPod 1K also sells for 27 ($ 27 discount)

Ronin Gimbal of DJI is virtually an industry standard at the moment. Think of it as a way to turn your SLR into a GoPro. You’ll get the GoPro’s battery smoothness, but with the full-size camera image and lens quality. This agreement is available in Adorama.

This is the best hands-down SD card I’ve ever used in a digital camera. There are some that are a little faster, but I’ve never had a problem with this Lexar and it’s proven to be very reliable. I don’t want to xenox it, but I have two of them that are about six years old and still work like new. If you don’t need that much space, the 64-GB model is also selling for $ 80 ($ 15 discount).
