Arrival in Greece | VANLIFE Around the world travel series

As we continue our attempt to drive around the world in Trudy our campervan, we leave Ohrid in North Macedonia and head south crossing the border into Greece. We want to say THANK YOU to our main sponsors – A Plan – Thatcham Services, who have kindly sponsored our van for the EU and have paid for our Travel Insurance so we stay safe on the road. They provide cover for all campers and motorhomes and specialise in insurance for custom (self build) vans so if you have built your own or have a van or motorhome yourself then give them a call. We also use them for our own house insurance. The good news is as a Tread the Globe follower you get a preferential rate so give them a call (quote TREAD the Globe)

  1. Hi everyone – just wanted to highlight that this video was filmed a couple of weeks ago before the lockdowns. We are being responsible and are currently in isolation in Istanbul in secure parking. Please keep safe during these troubled times and follow the direction of your local authorities – sending virtual love Chris & Marianne xx

  2. How did you deal with all the ferries in Greece in a camper van? Does it get prohibitively expensive? Also, I believe that using a van to travel is the most best (and responsible) way to travel while still being isolated πŸ™‚

  3. After your conversation on running out of milk for your coffee, an ignorant question on how how Brits take their coffee & tea: when you say "with milk," what kind is it? For instance, most Americans will use "half & half" which is whole milk & cream (not Guiness & Harps πŸ˜‰), or a flavored creamer like Coffee Mate (chemicals, sugar, & vegetable oil of some sort πŸ˜•). Just curious. Cheers! πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘

  4. I currently live on a dairy farm, I now drink black coffee after what I've seen here! 😬

It absolutely definitely tastes different without milk, not in a good way but a good pinch of salt helps, seriously, Google it, thank me later 😁

  5. Hello driving β€œround the world.”

Listen I need your advice, I’m looking to buy a 2nd camper . I’m in gravesend ; would you fellows be able to point me to some places where they sell campers ?
    Much obliged!

  6. I’m really enjoying this guys. A great bit of escapism from lockdown. Thanks very much. Looking forward to following your journey. Can you tell me what the van is you have and what the layout is called? Sorry if my terminology is wrong. I’m new to all this van life stuff. Stay safe.

  7. The land of Greece is one infused with ancient mythology and if you like archeology, history, art, and philosophy then a trip to this fascinating country is not to be missed. Greece is made up of a series of idyllic islands that are surrounded by jet blue seas and covered in dainty white buildings, and you will also find crumbling ruins, engaging museums, and pretty coastal towns aplenty.

  8. Great journey , loving every video . How relaxed ( cop smoking in fuel halt ) ! Ah well part of life . As for the dogs , they are looking for love not so much food . Trying to catch up with your vids , just seen ou on BBC πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸš

  9. You two always cheer me with your happy energy
The dog didn't want you to leave him πŸ˜ƒ
Beautiful scenery and you always lucky
    Stay safe and vigilant

  10. Love your videos, but they are hard to watch when you're on a diet.πŸ˜‚ Btw, the trick to eating croissant while driving; tilt your head back and take it in one bite πŸ˜‚πŸ˜

  11. We are so grateful you keep us company under these difficult times!Watching this video by lake Vegoritida I come to realize how utterly your life can change in such short time. Please take care!!!πŸŒπŸ’—πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·

  12. Marianne love that you are collecting world banknotes. I started collecting them from my very first ever foreign country visit. It was Trinidad and I went there on HMS Hermes as a Junior Sailor aged only 17 in January 1980. Many Many Moons ago…. pull up a bollard and I'll tell you a story.

  13. Hi guys good to see your latest vid, it brings back so much Memories of living in the Motor home πŸ˜‚. Oh the joys of Motor homing. Good to see how you both just get on with things. The Police's presence must really make the situation real. But am Glad you both made it safely to Greece and Past. Hopefully things will soon calm down for youse to continue your journey.
Stay Safe and Look after yourselves.πŸ˜™β€β€β€β€β€

  15. Okay, that makes sense, I was wondering why everyone looked so casual like nothing was happening around the globe, it’s a good thing that Chris is not the driver or he would’ve gotten pulled over by them police, they tend to target males more than females. Glad to know you guys are hunkering down and staying safe, thank you for keeping the rest of us entertained
