If you calculate the cost of the Pixel 6 Pro in two years with all those unique services, your total would be 1,746. So you are effectively paying less. But that’s just it Really It’s worth it if you watch a ton of YouTube and use YouTube music instead of other options like Spotify.
Google says that if you already subscribe to one of these services, your current plans will be canceled and you will receive a bill for the Pixel Pass once you ship on the Pixel 6 (although you may have to manually cancel YouTube Premium or YouTube Music Premium before subscribing Will be up to pixel pass).
About that old pixel phone
The Pixel 5 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) and Pixel 4A 5G 2020 are out of stock in the Google Store, and Google says you shouldn’t expect them back. You can find them on Amazon, but the Pixel 5 costs 100 more than the Pixel 6, and it’s not worth it when Google’s new phone loses it all over.
The Amazon Pixel 4A 5G sells for $ 50 more than the new Pixel 5A, so it’s not a smart buy, as the 5A is water resistant and adds a larger battery and will have longer software support. That said, if you’re not in the United States or Japan, only two countries where 5A is sold, it’s worth picking up.
The Pixel 3 range is much older, and includes the Pixel 3A. The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are suffering from poor battery performance and are not worth picking up. These older phones will also stop receiving software updates in 2022 Buy one of the new models 7
Cases and accessories we like
The official Google case seems to be that they offer more protection than their predecessors. There are a number of fun colors, a dual-layer design that helps absorb shocks when you throw it away, and the front edges to protect the screen. The inner layer of the Pixel 5A case is made with 75 percent recyclable plastic, and the other two are made with 30 percent post-consumer recycled material.
This seems to be the best of all the pixel cases I’ve tried. It has a nice texture that is pleasant to the touch, and the case keeps a slim profile. The buttons are clickable and the ports are well open. It is affordable, but the front edges are not raised. There is a good chance the screen will hit the ground when you drop it.
Pixel phones don’t have a great track record with screen durability — they scratch easily. We originally tested it for the Pixel 5A, but it is no longer available. Caseology By Sell now for the Pixel 6, although stock is limited. Installation is easy, and it includes a squeegee to get rid of air bubbles. You’ll find two screen protectors for the price, including a microfiber cloth, a wipe and a dust removal sticker.
It is slim, has a nice texture, holds clicky buttons and has accurate cutouts for ports and speakers. What is not love? It is arguably Spiegel’s most interesting case lineup. The edges aren’t sharply raised, so don’t expect too much screen protection. Pair it with the above Casology Screen Protector to cover all your bases.
This dual-layer case from Otterbox Feels Really hard, yet it’s fairly thin. The edges around the camera module and the front screen are raised, easy to press buttons and protected from headphone jack and USB-C port components. It offers one step up in protection compared to the above picks.
Pixels have great cameras, but you can take them further by using third-party lenses like Moment. Slap the fish-eye lens for a fun, distorted photo effect. Use a 58-mm telephoto to get closer to your subject. No matter which lens you choose, you need a moment case for the system to work. It takes about two seconds to attach or remove a lens with a simple twist. The Pixel 6 case has Moment’s (M) Force magnets embedded inside, so they will work with the company’s various MagSafe mounts, such as for tripods, video lights and mics.
This is a solid Pixel wallet case with a kickstand. You can prop it in different angles with folding leather flaps on the back in horizontal or vertical orientation. It can even save a credit card or two. It’s chunky, and the cards can be a little hard to move, but the buttons are easy to press. It also raised the front edges to protect the screen.
Of the pixels in this guide, wireless charging is only available on the Pixel 5, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Google’s own Pixel Stand is one of the best wireless chargers around because it’s simple. The base does not slide around, the phone is held and it enables some fun features, such as turning the screen into a digital photo frame and quick access to Google Assistant. Just be aware that Google is soon releasing a second-gen Pixel stand with a built-in fan for faster charging of the Pixel 6 series. There are more options in our best wireless charger guide.

Pixel has some exclusive key features that you won’t find on any other Android phone. Some of these are only available in the new Pixel 6 series, especially since they rely on the processing power of the tensor chip. Here’s a quick breakdown:
