Bishop Montgomery, Inglewood advance to Trevor Ariza Tip-Off Classic semifinals



Bishop Montgomery 66, Lawndale 38

Will Smith led the Knights with 15 points and Kristopher Krause and Kelcy Phipps had 14 apiece in the quarterfinal win at Westchester High in the Trevor Ariza Tip-Off Classic.

Bishop Montgomery will face Inglewood in Friday’s semifinals.

Inglewood 59, Santa Monica 57 (OT)

Kenyon Agurs scored 23 points and Elijah Anderson had 18 to lead the Sentinels in the win.

Rolling Hills Prep 77, Gardena 39

Benny Gealer led the Huskies with 29 points in their Pac Shores win at Mira Costa.

JV Brown (18), Kenny Manzi (14) and Seydi Thiombane (10) also scored in double digits for RHP.

The Huskies will face Venice in the semifinals, Thursday at 6 p.m.

Mira Costa 86, Carson 40

Nick Lundy scored 13 points to lead the Mustangs to the win at the Pac Shores Tournament. Mira Costa will face Brentwood, Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the semifinals.

Palos Verdes 66, Torrance 48

Jake Koyama scored 21 points and David Maemoto and Carson Kim and 10 and nine, respectively in the win at the Artesia Tournament.

Daniel Rodriguez and Chad Lingad scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Hawthorne 71, Animo Leadership 18

The Cougars opened their season with a big win.

Redondo 52, La Mirada 46

Cole Stokes led the Sea Hawks with 17 points. Tyler Doiron had 15 and Bradley Bennett finished with 10 points and eight rebounds in Tuesday’s win at the Buena Park Tournament.

Natalia Huntington scored a pair of goals and six others (Roslyn Tauvaa, Risako Adachi, Lindsey Metcalfe, Michala Fairchild, Madeline Steinbach and Gracie Monroy) had one each in the season-opening win.
