In the ESL industry since 89 I have made 5000 to 7000 from teaching most of my career , with 20 of those years in Japan and KSA. Made close to 1.5 mil teaching another 500k from other sources and I know many teachers that worked harder than I and made more. It is certainly possible to make 5000 to 7000 a month. NOW IN vietnam, some make 3000 to 5000 from their day job and 2000 to 3000 after 6. It depends a lot on your qualifications, experience and connections. But I have survived mostly teaching since 1989, bought 2 condos in Tokyo and one in Vietnam. IN 3 years I will have a million in real estate and more in stocks. Have over 100 millionaire friends that made it in ESL. many making 5000 to 7000 in China and Korea too. Many guys come on and talk about making 1500 to 3000 on the internet. This is the bottom of the market, more entry level.
GIO should keep away from his pomie blogger FREIND.you have lowered yourself interviewing gio.there opinions are full of shit arragant with no experience should be Cargill wat they say
Great
I spend a bit more but I pay Spanish school tuitions, and I eat out all the time.
Thank you for getting the total costs. Health Ins and Rent or Purchase can make or break one.
๐๐ป๐๐ปโs up!
My two favorite YouTubers in the same interview. Great job you guys!
Hi Dan interesting video ,I follow Gio's channel and watch video's I feel might have interest in from his channel,he does make some good points and tips ,take care Dan regards to Qiang .
This was great! I'm a Hospital Care Coordinator during the day, and I have been teaching English online part time for the last several years! ๐ค๐ค๐
As my mom always says a good health can save a lot of money. Dan, you can show your lifestyle overseas. For instance, showing us to cook a cheap but healthy meal at home can save more money than eating outside. A lot of audience are interested in foods and cooking.
401K is not reliable as stock market can go up and down. I rely on a current job to keep my everyday life going.
Philippines is not as cheap as I thought before. Maybe Central America and Mexico have better deals.
I work at home during the pandemic for long hours and I cook everyday. I pay about $58-$60 per month to PSEG. So that gentlemanโs100 for electricity per month is quite expensive. I live in Jersey City and I donโt feel the city dangerous. Of course, every US city has a particularly dangerous zone, avoid those areas and you will see most part of the city is quite safe and convenient.
Dan, Another excellent interview. Your sound is excellent but neither of you seem to be wearing a mic. May I ask what sort of mic or sound recording you use for these 1 on 1 interviews?
Smarter and Smarter. Great video.
Gio is a good man.
Good to see you guys together. Your two are pretty much the only expat channels I watch…
If you donโt get vaccines for things like yellow fever and malaria, is there a high probability that you will catch them? Thanks you๐
Gio must be a huge guy.
ive heard of him from old dog channel. Yt Filapina Pea was talking about him.
his enternet $100 us…. whats his connection?
I really respect this man and anyone younger who makes it work in the Philippines. So many retired older men but making it young thatโs something special. Keep it up Gia youโre an inspiration to lots of us 40 and under crowd.
Very informative interview, thank you.
Nomad insurance is Travel Health insurance and is great for immediate emergencies such as if you break a leg or even emergency surgery like if you need your appendix pulled. But it's definitely not comprehensive health insurance. If you discover you have a long term illness like cancer it's not going to cover that. If you suffer a spinal injury and need rehab etc that's not covered. If your girlfriend or wife is preganant the prenatal care and birth aren't covered. I just want this out there so people don't get a false idea that you can get this type of insurance and be ok with any health issue that comes up because the video didn't spell that out. Always do your own research.
sorry ta say big SCAM
How do you keep your ATM card for UK if your living abroad ? As UK banks won't let you have an account if your living abroad , and especially if you got nobody you can put down in UK as an address how do you still keep your UK bank card living in Philippines with this scenario ?
How far is dumagette from Cebu ? Has dumagette got it's own airport ?
Excellent video. Please consider doing more of this style.
Thx guys
Canโt find this nomad insurance link ?
Does the Phillipines Vietnam etc govt tax your for your English teaching ? Do,you have to declare this income i these countries
Central America vs SEA ?
How safe is South America
Good interview. You never asked about if you need a university degree. I am finding most places you do. I would love to do that, but I do not have a degree. I was hoping you would have asked if he feels there is discrimination out there. From watching other channels I am getting a feeling there is. For instance, I am a senior citizen. It seems young people are mostly hired. I will check out his channel though.
giosue
Great question. Ppl say to me, that I can have 3000 US AND that doesn't make me feel safe. I think it's important to have passive income…i invest, have a 403…etc
Every thing in the US is expensive. My insurance is expensive, rent is expensive, food is expensive…

Very nice video Yes Geo has many great videos too. I learned more ways to get there and understand what I need to plan for. Thanks for having the interview.
I really enjoy your videos. Theyโre always very informative.
Where are you to headed next? Left the Philipines already, i heard? Back to the US?
This is a great interview ๐
Interesting stuff and quite useful. I was an English teacher until I retired early. One issue: Iโve never heard of IELTS and TOEFL teaching certification – these are exams that non-native students take when they want to study at Uniโs in English speaking countries. The typical required Teachers certification is TEFL/TESOL or CELTA.
I was making about $2500-3000 per month teaching online while living in Mongolia and Vietnam. Typical rates are $25-33 per class (40 or 50 minutes).
I'm a dancer , swing , ballroom, latin, country.. Do they have that in Deumangeti
Hey Dan – Great Interview !! I subscribed to Gio's channel awhile back and it was great to see you two talk about these things. The online teaching was good to learn about as well as backup to the backup for money. Keep them coming !!
Nice Interview
as a further tip, maybe it's an idea when speaking about figures during your vlogs in terms of budget and money spending, to let those figures appear visually on the side of the screen, especially when adding and substracting figures. I think this is where many people are interested in, and it gives a more clear presentation of information plus visual attractiveness and professionalism to your vlogs. I'm sure there is a nice format available for this. cheers
Gio is a good guy.
